Experience Matters

Our 8 lawyer firm welcomes you. Attorney Todd W. Elliott chairs the firm's contract litigation group and regularly litigates on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants.

Mr. Elliott has successfully and advanced and defended seven figure cases.  For example, he defended the outgoing CEO of Worldcom, Bernard Ebbers, who had been sued in Pittsburgh for his alleged role in diminishing the value of Worldcom stock. In that case, the Teamsters and Steel Workers unions filed suit against Mr. Ebbers in Pittsburgh for his alleged role in decreasing the value of union pensions. Read our reviews, here.  Mr. Elliott has also been consulted by KDKA to give opinions about contract matters in the news.  He has also spoke to law school students as expert in contract litigation and breach of contract matters in state and federal court.

Significant Cases

In another case, Mr. Elliott represented Nationwide Insurance Company when a group of Nationwide insurance agents broke off from Nationwide and formed a company that competed directly with Nationwide. Nationwide then filed suit in Western Pennsylvania against the former agents who, in turn, counter sued, resulting in a prolonged legal dispute involving claims (and counterclaims) for trade disparagement (defamation), non-competition agreements, and theft of trade secrets.

Representation of out-of-state corporations. In Pennsylvania, Mr. Elliott has defended numerous out-of-state companies and individuals sued in Pennsylvania. The list is extensive and includes individuals in Nevada, Colorado, New England, and  even countries throughout Europe. In particular, Mr. Elliott defended a Colorado corporation on a breach of contract suit filed  in Allegheny County. In that case, the lower court dismissed the case based on a lack of jurisdiction and improper venue and attorney Elliott ultimately argued the case before the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Likewise, in another breach of contract case, Mr. Elliott represented a Las Vegas company concerning litigation in Pittsburgh.
